TouchCAD provides several features, making it well-suited for design and production preparation of even very complex shapes, such as tents, awnings, upholstery, furniture, sails, boat hoods and covers, inflatable tents and figures, balloons, blimps, etc.
Besides advanced 3D shaping features, it also provides extensive parametric unfolding features, such as panel split resolution and direction, individual seam allowance settings for each panel and panel side, automatic alignment marks, panel and point numbering, etc.
Unfolded panels are dynamically linked to the 3D shapes and any changes made in 3D can instantly be seen in the Unfold view. The Unfold view also allows full nesting by dragging, rotation and flipping, either manually, or by automatic nesting. Unfolded panels can also be fitted into a given plot area, representing the dimensions of the material used, or the dimensions of the plotter / cutter used.
The production ready output, can be in form of ready to cut files in many commonly file formats, such as AAMA-DXF, DXF, HPGL, Adobe Illustrator or compatibles, Vectorworks Vectorscript, Aeronaut Automation Tangent, Sails Science Plotmaker, or of course in-scale unfolded image with or without full-color graphics. The output can also be in form of a paper drawing with outlines and X/Y coordinates for manual plotting directly on the material or on cut templates.
In other words, TouchCAD provides 3D design and production preparation in a single powerful package. Brochure can be found here.
